Societas Multiacademy Trust

Summerbank is part of the Societas Trust, which is made up of five primary academies in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire.  The Trust has grown out of the collaborative work of the Headteachers of these five schools, formalising a shared commitment to the continuing development of each of the Academies.

Providing great learning opportunities and outcomes for all are at the heart of the Societas Vision, within a like-minded community which also celebrates diversity.  Through our commitment to the vision everyone is valued and encouraged to excel.

To support this commitment, we:

• work collaboratively, not competitively;
• maintain the leadership structure within each academy ( no executive head/ lead school);
• retain individual governing bodies within each academy.

To ensure each academy has an equal voice in the work of the Trust as a whole, a unique governance structure has been developed where each school / academy has a seat on the Directors’ Board and on the Executive.
